A peace-filled event: Singing, Sharing stories, Poetry Reading — In your words how this administration has harmed people: MURDERING THE MENTALLY ILL; CLOSED MENTAL HEALTH CLINICS; CLOSED 50 SCHOOLS; EXCESSIVE TRAFFIC STOPS IN POOR COMMUNITIES; INCREASED TAXES; NO HOUSING FOR THE POOR; MURDERING YOUTH & SENIORS; NO JOBS THAT ALLOW PEOPLE TO BE INDEPENDENT; SPENT $13 MILLION FOR MORE POLICE WEAPONS, LAID OFF THOUSANDS;
Bring all bags to the 5th floor of city hall between 9:15am and 2:00pm. The bags are plain black garbage bags.
At the end of the Memorial Service the body bags will be given to Mayor Emmanuel so he can learn how his actions have hurt so many people in Chicago.
People can contribute their memorabilia to the Mental Health Movement’s body bags.
S.T.O.P. will provide a bus leaving at 9:30am from the office at 602 East 61st St. Body Bags will contain: mementos of people who suffered the injustice along with the date of incident and description of the injustice; The Mental Health Movement is bringing together Chicago residents, Community organizations and religious leaders to honor all those who have been harmed by the current administration’s practices and policies and to call for healing in Chicago. In a 5 hour peace-filled citizen event, people will share stories to help them heal. Each story will include contact information to allow the mayor’s administration to contact people.
