SAVE OUR CLINICS!
State budget cuts could reduce the mental health budget by half
There are only 3 ½ psychiatrists for 12 city clinics. We have been promised for over six months that more psychiatrists will be hired, yet none have.
Mental health services save resources by treating people before costly and preventable tragedies occur. It costs far more money to hospitalize someone or have police respond than to treat them.
The City hasn’t agreed to put up funds to keep our clinics open when the state makes cuts!
Last year the City tried to close four south side clinics after it lost funding because of a billing mess-up. This plan was stopped by our actions. It’s time to act before it is too late!
